With our graphics SDK release Redway3d REDsdk 3D engine, virtual reality has never been closer to the physical world. To facilitate your outdoor model creations, our API includes physical sunlight and skylight models that can be inserted easily and with jaw-dropping realism. Physical lights such as an industrial bulb have specific lighting properties listed in our light IES profiles. Therefore, the light you choose will improve the realism of your design. In addition, the large panel of high-quality materials and textures included in REDMaterials library, which is a REDsdk add-on module, will allow you to accurately recreate wood flooring, concretes, fabrics, metals, stones and even jewellery in no time.
In order to use our powerful graph API that is also a mobile graphics API, you will only need to possess a graphic card from the three main manufacturers, namely NVIDIA, ATI or INTEL that is no older than 2003. With more than 1300 certified and supported graphic cards upon its release, REDsdk is certainly one of the most flexible API of its kind. Its proprietary file format, ".red", allows you to save and load scene graphdata directly, to integrate it into any other file format or to compress it using algorithms for each data source. The format can handle animations and encryption with high loading performances due to its multithreaded loading system.

For 2020, moving to REDsdk simply meant moving from the “nice” rendering delivered by our former solution to an image that could be mistaken for a true photo. We therefore started to research the real-time aspect of REDsdk and realized the substantial benefits of an all-in-one 2D/3D graphics engine.
When you have been developing a software for decades, you have tons of specific users’ habits and it was key for us that REDsdk was flexible enough to enable us to implement our own rendering expertise and visualization modes.
Today, BricsCAD still offers drafting, but also full 3D modeling, intelligent sheet metal design and BIM. BricsCAD uses many different software components, but REDsdk is really a key part of our current success.
The integration process of REDsdk into our applications has in all cases gone smoothly and the REDWAY 3D engineers were always available to provide prompt and insightful help.
