Reliable and versatile ray tracing library (graphics componants) for geoscience
Ray tracing library (graphics componants) for geoscience
Are you in need for a ray tracing library (graphics componants) for geoscience sector ?
Most of the 3D graphics engines available on the market only use a fraction of the hardware capabilities of the platform they run on. That is why the strategy behind the development of our unique cross-platform graphics engine aimed to correct this flaw. As a result, the release of our middleware Redway3d REDsdk allowed the use of the full potential of the graphics hardware. For our graphics SDK release, the enhancement of the quality in terms of the display was made possible with the ability of the included ray-tracing to use all available microprocessor cores of the concerned platform. Thus, an exceptional achievement for large model visualization within the hardware constraints.
With Redway3d REDsdk, you will no more worry about engine integration. Its flexibility allows usage in parallel to other graphics software in order to enhance the existing solution. Importing and exporting data from different sources is facilitated with our specifically provided bridges supplied with customizable source code. Therefore, key industrial components like Parasolid, Open Design Alliance for the DWG format, Ascon’s C3D or 3D Studio Max can easily be integrated. The use of REDMax plugin will allow you to conveniently import and export information to and from a multitude of file formats, including DXF, FBX, IGE, IGS, OBJ, WRL, STL, MAX, DWG or 3DS.

In a few days, we could repurpose our legacy materials and render them using the RED engine technology.
For 2020, moving to REDsdk simply meant moving from the “nice” rendering delivered by our former solution to an image that could be mistaken for a true photo. We therefore started to research the real-time aspect of REDsdk and realized the substantial benefits of an all-in-one 2D/3D graphics engine.
When you have been developing a software for decades, you have tons of specific users’ habits and it was key for us that REDsdk was flexible enough to enable us to implement our own rendering expertise and visualization modes.
Today, BricsCAD still offers drafting, but also full 3D modeling, intelligent sheet metal design and BIM. BricsCAD uses many different software components, but REDsdk is really a key part of our current success.
The integration process of REDsdk into our applications has in all cases gone smoothly and the REDWAY 3D engineers were always available to provide prompt and insightful help.
By using REDsdk, we could get the best of the current 2D/3D hardware performance while keeping all our TopSolid 2D & 3D graphics assets. It is a full bi-directional compatibility, TopSolid can call REDsdk and REDsdk can call TopSolid.
